Deep roots, a future-orienteted vision
The company’s origins trace back to Giuseppe Calabretta, whose father Angelo was already active in the early 20th century in the marketing of fresh produce, exporting citrus fruits to several European countries.
Building on this legacy, his son Antonino, drawing on extensive experience in the trade, expanded the business into the processing of citrus derivatives.
In 1957, with the support of his sons, he decided to invest in the construction of an industrial plant, marking a new phase of growth for the company.
The story of Fratelli Calabretta begins in Acireale, between the slopes of Mount Etna, on the Ionian coast, known as the Lemon Riviera. It's the story of a family with ancient citrus traditions, who transformed their love for the land into a business capable of growing over time, without losing sight of its roots. A path founded on solid values, passion, hard work, and tradition, but projected toward the future through innovation and adaptation.
Giuseppe Calabretta took up his father's legacy with enthusiasm and an innovative spirit. From a young age, he dedicated himself to the company's growth, expanding the range of products and investing in new technologies, without losing family values and ties with the territory.
Over the years, thanks to their managerial ability and foresight, the Calabretta family chooses to expand their artisanal tradition with investments in modern systems and cutting-edge technologies, which allows to obtain natural juices and concentrates, pulps, essential oils, and peels, respecting the characteristics of the raw material.
Today, the plant covers over 5,000 m² and processes hundreds of tons of fresh fruit every day. Every stage of production is controlled to ensure quality, safety, and traceability, without losing the human value of a family-run business.
The deep roots of those who started , the solidity of those who built , and the open-mindedness of those who imagine today the future.
Fratelli Calabretta is a family that grows together with their land, combining experience and innovation, memory and future.
